The Lost Transcendence - Preface
Foundation: A Conceptual Introduction
An opening narrative that directly summarizes the core of the conversation preceding the Prologue, functioning as a "map" or "compass" for the reader, guiding them to understand the entire book through the correct lens and avoid common misunderstandings (especially viewing it as a self-help endeavor or New Age spirituality).
The Initial Question: Where Is Your Position?
Before we venture further into the discussion of the "primordial rift" and the "lost fundamental tone," it is good for us to pause for a moment. Take the time to ponder the simple question that forms the foundation of this entire book: "Where is your position in relation to Reality?"
Do you see yourself as:
1. The center of the universe? An isolated consciousness, separate from everything and everyone else, which must rely on its own strength and intelligence to survive, succeed, and find happiness.
2. Part of a communio? A node in the vast web of life, a consciousness that finds meaning, identity, and its strength precisely in dependence and harmonious relation to the Source, others, and creation.
If your honest answer leans toward the first option—however subtle it may be—then you have experienced what we call "The Lost Transcendence." This is "sin" in its most primordial sense: not merely a moral transgression, but the condition of being cast into the illusion of autonomy and separation. This is the "Bite" that severed us from "Theta"—the state of unity, total dependence, and conscious participation in the Divine.
This book is an attempt to trace the tracks of this rift, from ancient myths to modern anxieties, and most importantly, to map the way home.
A Warning and Clarification Before Entering:
The way home we discuss here is not about:
"Taking Back" or "Rediscovering" Transcendence Through Self-Effort: This is not a self-help manual for becoming "more spiritual" or "more powerful." The separate ego cannot "possess" Theta; it can only surrender and participate in it.
Spiritual Materialism: We will not discuss how to acquire spectacular mystical experiences, supernatural powers (siddhis), or spiritual status. Those are just other ways for the ego to reinforce its illusion of control and ownership.
Escaping the World (Spiritual Bypassing): The way home is not about escaping human responsibilities, pain, or the chaos of the world. On the contrary, it is about finding a way to be fully present within it, but with a completely new perspective—a perspective of dependence.
Instead, the core of this "way home" is a radical shift from autonomy toward total dependence (100% Dependence). This is an active and courageous surrender, not passivity. It is the recognition that we are not the center, but participants. Not the composer, but one instrument in the grand orchestra of the universe.
The restoration of that lost "transcendence" from Eden—as discussed in the deep conversation underlying this book—does not contradict the Christian doctrine of grace. Rather, it is its embodiment. The status of "child of God" granted through Christ is itself the restoration of relationship that enables us to return to that state of "trusting dependence," even in a more glorious form.
With this foundation, we are now ready to enter "The Silent Hum"—the silent hum of the primordial Theta that still echoes in the deepest memory of us all. Welcome to this quest.
